Who will be the Next President of the United States?
? Nov. 4, 2005 - Abortion! That's been the focus of Samuel Alito's nomination
Abortion, abortion, abortion. That's been the focus of Samuel Alito's nomination, of course.
Charles Krauthammer explains in Distorting Sam Alito how liberal interest groups have purposely misrepresented Alito's opinion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey to make him look "out of the mainstream":
In the coming days you will hear that Alito "supports" strip searches of 10-year-olds and the private possession of machine guns. The Brady anti-gun campaign has already called Alito "Machine Gun Sammy." You will also hear that he is hostile to minorities, immigrants, women, workers, the disabled, the environment . . . you name it. These claims are based on the same distortion that we see in attacks on Alito's abortion ruling in Casey -- the deliberate confusion of a constitutional judgment (almost invariably based on the Supreme Court's own precedents) with a personal policy preference.
It was disgraceful when that same deliberate distortion was used in television ads to accuse John Roberts of "supporting" people who blow up abortion clinics. It remains disgraceful today. |

? Nov. 4, 2005 - Only 56,000 U.S. jobs were created in October, about half the number expected as the impact of Hurricane Katrina faded.
Who Will be the Next President? Read on...
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Only 56,000 U.S. jobs were created in October, about half the number expected as the impact of Hurricane Katrina faded, but wages grew at the strongest pace in 2-1/2 years, a government report on Friday showed.
Though the Labor Department also revised down total job growth for the two prior months, it said the October national unemployment rate eased to 5 percent from 5.1 percent, implying the job market remained solid.
"The underlying trend looks to still be in the 200,000 (jobs per month) range," said economist Joel Naroff of Naroff Economic Advisors in Holland, Pa. "And if that is correct, conditions are okay, really."
Financial markets were whipsawed by the jobs data.
Bond and stock market participants focused initially on low job totals and hoped it meant the
Federal Reserve might be more likely to halt its campaign of interest-rate rises, but later grew worried that rising wages could fire inflation.
By late morning, U.S. Treasury prices reversed course and were showing losses for fear the Fed might instead extend its rate rises, while stock prices turned down on similar concern. But bond prices later recovered modestly.
STORMS MUDDLE PICTURE
Wall Street economists had forecast that 100,000 jobs were created last month. But the figures remain hard to interpret because of the impact of hurricanes Katrina that struck the Gulf Coast in late August, Rita that followed in September and Wilma that hit Florida in October after the monthly jobs survey was completed.
As many as 400,000 people are estimated to have suffered job losses or interruptions in the Gulf Coast, though many are returning to work at rebuilding in the wake of the storms.
"The underlying economic fundamentals remain sound as has been pointed out by the Fed," said Alan Gayle, a managing director of Trusco Capital Management in Atlanta, though fourth-quarter growth may suffer if consumers spend less.
"You can't have this kind of slowing in job growth coupled with rising energy prices and not see some adverse impact on consumer spending," Gayle said.
The Labor Department revised August and September data to show that 36,000 fewer jobs were created in the two months than previously thought. It said there were 148,000 new jobs in August instead of 211,000 and that 8,000 jobs were lost in September instead of 35,000.
The Labor Department's commissioner of labor statistics, Kathleen Utgoff, said last month's softer pace of job creation could not be blamed on the hurricanes. "Rather, job growth in the remainder of the country appeared to be below trend in October," she said.
The 0.5 percent pickup in average hourly earnings to $16.27 from $16.19 in September was the largest gain since a matching 0.5 percent in February 2003, department officials said. That caused concern among some analysts that policy-makers could see it as an inflation threat.
"I don't think this is a bearish report because average hourly earnings are ticking up significantly, said Firas Askari, manager of foreign exchange trading for BMO Nesbitt in Toronto. "That is obviously a direct driver of inflation."
Naroff similarly warned rising wages could make the Fed decide it needed to carry on raising rates to levels that slow growth in order to ward off an inflation spiral.
"If firms have to face not only high energy and commodity prices but also increasing labor costs, then the inflationary pressures could be even greater than we think," he said. "And that could push the Fed to go past neutral and start tapping on the brakes."
Notably, some 49,000 jobs were created in goods-producing industries last month, which generally are considered to pay more than service businesses.
That was a bounceback from September when 13,000 jobs were lost in this sector.
In a reflection of rebuilding activity after the hurricanes, some 33,000 new construction jobs were posted in October, nearly triple the 12,000 created in September.
Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan, testifying before Congress on Thursday, indicated he was confident about the economy's growth prospects but said the outlook for potential inflation was more troublesome.
The Fed has raised U.S. short-term interest rates 12 times since mid-2004 -- most recently on Tuesday when it boosted its trendsetting federal funds rate to 4 percent -- and has not signaled any intention to call a halt in the near future.
Reuters just released this information about Alan Greenspan and we thank them for there story. Way to go Reuters!

? Nov. 4, 2005 - POSSIBLE CANDIDATE. Wealthy venture capitalist Mitt Romney ran a respectable, losing campaign
Will Mitt Romney Run again?
We are hoping this candidate will Run for election again. People Believe he is the Best New England Resident for the Job.
Governor W. Mitt Romney (Massachusetts)
STATUS: POSSIBLE CANDIDATE. Wealthy venture capitalist Mitt Romney ran a respectable, losing campaign against US Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) in 1994, but he first appeared on the national radar when he "saved" the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics. The SLC Olympic committee was mired in a bribery scandal when they brought in Romney in 1999 to clean-up the problems and get the games back on track. The SLC games came off flawlessly, and Romney was given much of the credit. Within a month after the close of the ´02 Olympics, a "Draft Romney" campaign for Massachusetts Governor appeared. Bay State Republicans worried that incumbent Governor Jane Swift (R) was too weak to hold the seat, so she was successfully pressured to quit the race. With Swift out of the picture, Romney jumped in. In an upset, Romney won a narrow victory in that liberal state. Once in office, it quickly became clear that Romney was interested in a White House run. He began to give speeches across the nation, and took other steps to raise his profile. He backed away from his 1994 moderate pro-choice views on abortion, and now classifies himself as solidly pro-life. When the Massachusetts Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in 2004, Romney quickly became a vocal opponent. He has pushed a state constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, and appeared in 2005 to even back away from the compromise of allowing civil unions that he formerly suggested. Romney is a Mormom, and one big unknown is how that will play with Religious Right activists -- an influential group in GOP primaries -- as some Protestant fundamentalists openly refer to the Mormons as a cult. Romney´s late father -- former auto industry executive, three-term Michigan Governor and US Housing Secretary George W. Romney (R-MI) -- was an early frontrunner for the 1968 Presidential nomination until some gaffes derailed his run. Click here to view our detailed profile of Governor Romney.

Gorilla Version 3.0 World Premier Has Independent Filmmakers Talking
Studio City, CA – Independent filmmakers spoke, and the developers at Jungle Software listened. Gorilla, the premier production tool for emerging filmmakers, has just released version 3.0. With more than 70 added features and 30 new reports, Gorilla still beats the competition in every way – including price.
Gorilla 3.0 has blown the doors wide open on features. Filmmakers can now link their schedules directly to their budget; new Smart Entry allows producers to attach actors, crew locations, shoot days, elements and vendors from any budget with simple to use drop down menus; workgroups are now well-supported by allowing schedules & budgets to be independently saved and sent to other Gorilla users; and best of all, Gorilla 3.0 includes updated SAG and union labor rates and comes packed with over 1,000 film festivals.
In the past, software like Gorilla was written primarily for big studios. “When I was producing my first indie feature,” recounts Jungle Software co-owner and Gorilla developer Aaton Cohen-Sitt, “I was on a shoe-string budget. I wanted to put my money into my film. But I needed specialized software to keep track of everything, so I decided to create Gorilla.”
Gorilla offers the best of both worlds, a wealth of features at an affordable price. Features that have made it the new choice for independent filmmakers including the ability to import screenplay information from Final Draft® and Movie Magic Screenwriter® as well as the ability to track cast, crew, locations, vendors, rehearsals, budgets, profit sharing, expenses, storyboards, shots, and film festivals.
“I have always loved our Film Festival module,” explains Jungle Software’s Director of Sales and Marketing Ethan Markowitz, “now, with 3.0, we’ve completely updated our list to over 1000 fests, all with current contact information, and all available at the click of a button.”
Award-winning filmmaker Bryan Michael Stoller agrees that Gorilla is ideal for the independent filmmaker. In his book Filmmaking for Dummies, he highly recommends the software: “It’s a sophisticated software package, that will make the task of scheduling your movie a lot easier!”
Gorilla is available in three editions. The Pro Edition (retail price $399) offers unlimited shoot days and budget, the Standard Edition ($299) can handle up to 48 shoot days and a $625,000 budget, and the Student Edition ($199) can handle up to 14 shoot days and a $50,000 budget.
“The three editions make industry standard processes available to the masses,” explains Markowitz, “we’ve also made it very easy and affordable for filmmakers to upgrade Gorilla between the Student, Standard and Pro editions as they take on bigger projects.”
With the release of 3.0 , Jungle Software is also introducing ‘The Producer Pack’ allowing filmmakers to buy two licenses at a significantly reduced price. Volume licenses are also available.
Gorilla runs great on either Windows XP ® or Macintosh® OS X.
For more information about Gorilla Version 3.0 or to download a demo, please visit www.junglesoftware.com or call (818) 508-7090.

? Nov. 4, 2005 - The 911 Saga Continued - Illegal Spam Filters/IP Blocking Caused 9-11 disasters
FAA dropped the ball. Several investigations have shown recently that the FAA failed to fulfill its duty and allow the Department of Defense to successfully prevent the 9/11 disasters. Recently several democrat's and republicans have admitted there was a huge failure by the FAA to perform its duties. Less than 48 hours before "911 National Emergency Day" 2 similiar emails were sent outlining the attacks to several email addresses of officers working for the FAA. However, they claim there "web host blocked" the emails with their spam software on the server. Why they haven't questioned the use of this company in further investigations is beyond us. If they have it has not been made public. We have seen several cover ups regarding this issue. President Bush's staff takes the blaim for this mishap although what happened to the individuals who allowed this to happen is beyond us. The software vendor claims they are not to blaim, but I beleive and many others that they are. Also the individuals who maintain the server should also be released. Not only did they not read the messages from the emails, they did not even acknowledge them as a true threat! Email, is a way people try to remain Anonymous and when emails are received by a government agency they should take part in identifying and following up the leads. Infact, we've tried to obtain someof the details from these emails. In general we were told they named the time they would hit the towers, why the plains were chosen, the symbolic nature of the 911 date picked out, and even which airports they would take the airplanes from. Additional information speculated on the them taking larger plains with far away destinations in hopes that extra fuel would provide a larger explosion devastasting the infrastrucure on the towers far enough to make them collapse. The reports even state that they were aiming at attacking the pentagon shortly after the towers would be hit. The reports even mentioned the exact location on the pentagon where they wished to hit and take out to cause anti-terrorist divisions to be split.
How's is that for dropping the ball! Is Bush to blaim himself, Not at All! Has Bush allowed this cover-up to go on, Hell Yes! say a lot of folks, but the truth is that several democratics are to blaim worse than the republicans! I expect to release more information shortly regarding these events and would appreciate more data if anyone finds the Truth!
