For those of you not familiar with The Doug Zone, I’d like to take a moment to share a little background surrounding our site and present a realistic picture of the current American political landscape.

 

The American political system is one which has become almost entirely controlled and manipulated by a tiny fraction of the population known as radicals (both left and right). These radicals, and the hidden agendas they seek to promote, are supported by powerful special interest groups that dictate the direction of our political process, both openly and overtly, through lobbying efforts and the media. The unfortunate reality is that the average American has very little “real” participation in, or impact on, our nation’s political process!

 

The good news is that a vast awakening has begun in America. Citizens across the country and across the political spectrum have begun to say, “Enough is enough!” We are fed up with having no voice in a system that is plagued with corruption and self-serving politicians who are merely puppets – ably manipulated by the special interest groups. The following diagram serves to effectively illustrate the political landscape currently found in our country.

 

Today, fully 80% of Americans fall amazingly close to the imaginary, ideological midpoint which divides the political arena in two – the liberals (democrats) and the conservatives (republicans). The individuals comprising this enormous group of citizens share far more in common than they differ on. The majority of these voters find that their individual opinions often land on both sides of the political divide…depending on the given issue.

 

In a political process which has for so long been dominated by a two-party system so completely out-of-touch with the real world, these voters represent a symbolic “third” political party - one, which until recently, was powerless and devoid of a real voice. However, due to a growing and wide-spread level of disgust with the current condition of American and its political system and fed by a new generation of journalists and media outlets – free from the control of special interests and radical agendas, these Americans are beginning to unite and achieve both an ever growing presence in the political process and tremendous impact on the future direction of our nation.

 

For the first time in our nation’s history, individuals - at the grass-root’s level - are finally in a position to be both empowered and enlightened on the real issues facing our country. New independent media sources, such as blog sites like The Doug Zone, are delivering news and information to the average American that is free from hidden agendas and political “spin”. The pendulum of power has begun to swing back into the hands of the everyday citizen. Information leads to knowledge and knowledge inevitably leads to power!

 

An example of the power wielded by these extremists is discernable in the radical left’s success in convincing an entire nation that the single, greatest issue that divides us is religion. This is absolutely absurd – but the majority of Americans have believed this lie for years. The truth is that 85% of Americans claim to accept some form of Christianity. The average American, who finds him or herself squarely in the ranks of the silent majority – the moderate Americans comprising 80% of our nation, has been systematically misled with devastating consequences. A great many have been duped by a small but powerful group of liberal extremists who have utilized special interest groups and the mainstream secular media to execute their own special, hidden agenda. These shrewd predators want nothing more than for the average, moderate democrat to believe that he or she has no other choice but to abandon the “absurdity” of Christianity as a legitimate ingredient in both our nation’s political system and our nation’s ultimate future success and to blindly accept and embrace their radical, atheistic ideology – which many have unfortunately done….Until now!

 

Today, the hidden agendas of radicals, both on the left and on the right, are being exposed and the real truth surrounding the issues revealed. Americans across our vast geographical and political landscapes are uniting together to confront and develop solutions for important local, state, national and world issues. Nowhere can this be seen more noticeably than with regard to religion. Christians, once separated by an imaginary “political” divide, are now joining together to not only celebrate their faith but to also endeavor to change the unwelcome and detrimental anti-religious path our country has been coerced into traveling down by these radicals.

 

The war cry from the radical liberals that “Christianity is a private matter that has no “corporate” value in our society” is beginning to fall on more and more deaf ears in the democratic camp. The proof of its fraudulence can be plainly observed by any unbiased American in every corner of our nation. Similarly, the undeniable lack of radical conservative concern over the deterioration of our environment coupled with an absurd denial that industry is a major contributing factor (for example, the Bush administration’s denial of global warming in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence and refusal to implement the Kyoto agreement) is beginning to be rejected by more and more conservatives. Clearly, the conservative ranks of the 80% moderate “third party” are beginning to recognize and understand that, despite the world’s inevitable deterioration as a consequence of the Fall, healthy and legitimate levels of environmentalism, or “creation care” as it is sometimes referred to in Christian circles, is most certainly in accordance with the biblical mandate for our stewardship of God’s creation.

 

And the far left and right are scared! The liberal extremists are frightened because they both hate and fear religion all together and seek nothing short of extinguishing every last shred of it from our nation’s past, present and future. The conservative extremists are terrified because they regard any attempt to find middle ground between “liberal” and “conservative” Christianity as an attempt to water-down their perception of “true” Christianity. They love “religion” but only when it is practiced their way – cold, legalistic Christianity devoid of love and social responsibility – and only when it serves to advance their own selfish, hidden agenda and special interests (such as protecting big industry – especially within the energy sector).

In closing, while I continually strive to provide the absolute best, most accurate information – free of spin and bias – it is vitally important that you always heed the following universal truth: It is our own individual responsibility to research the issues that impact us! Don’t ever believe something simply because so-and-so said it or you read it here in The Doug Zone (or for that matter, anywhere). Draw your own conclusions and make your own decisions based upon real research and study. Just please, do something…don’t remain a member of the “zombie” squad – simply going through the routine of life without ever questioning or caring about the issues impacting that life.

 

Together, we – the united moderates - can make a difference…we can successfully navigate the cloudy waters of our political system and remedy the dangerous course our nation finds itself on. We can and will once again return America to greatness!
