Church Fires Not A Conspiracy

Good Point!
On Meet The Press the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen Peter Pace, said that the war in Iraq was going very, very well.
Needless to say he drew some criticism, and the most vocal from Rep. John Murtha who is a decorated war veteran. He said Iraq is depleting our troops and we can't respond to other threats such as Iran, al-Qaeda, China and N. Korea.

Pat Robertson Loses Seat At RBB
Pat Robertson has lost a bid for re-election on the Religious Broadcaster's Board. He still has a right to continue to shoot-off his blow-hole, though! Pat Robertson is one religious personality that clearly represents the wolves in sheep's clothing. Thing is that he doesn't have to wear his sheep suit, because his followers are blinded.
The guy talks non sense and I speak this as a Christian. Somehow he gets his divine inspiration directly from God, who has given him the power to judge as he sees fit. He can also be a hypocrite while doing that. Ariel Sharon was punished by God and Hugo Chavez should be assasinated don't follow the Word.
Robertson is not a modern day Christ, but can be a legal cult leader who banks on people's divine fears. He seems like a hypocrite when he speaks of the evils of Islam but asks for the assasination of someone.
Pat Robertson makes his money peddling God, preaching hate and passing judgement. This does not seem to be the qualities that God would give to those chosen to lead his people. Although this is nothing more than a display, it does knock Robertson down a peg.
This has been my opinion but if you are a follower perhaps you should think about it...

A McWedding!
Ronald McDonald didn't get married, although the groom could be a clown. If you want to impress people about that special occasion when you walk down the aisle, why not plan the wedding at the Golden Arches? The meals are cheap and aside from having to put up with the customers ordering food, McDonald's is the most romantic place to have a fast wedding. The McBride and McGroom exchanged their I Dos and everyone was treated to super-sized happy meals. The cake was actually a cherry pie!
Although I made some things up, the story itself is hilarious!

Are We Winning The War On Drugs?
Perhaps the War On Drugs is being won in Columbia...or perhaps not. Regardless of the outcome, it has just gotten a bit harder. Bolivia's foreign minister is quoted as saying that coca is so nutritious that it should be given to school children!
The President plans to make coca legal and vows to defend the crops. Why shouldn't he? He was a 'former' coca farmer himself!

Dope Highway
Imagine someone getting pulled over for having a plate light out. The cop smells a familiar odor and goes to radio to call for backup. The paranoid sets in and the driver bolts, pursued by the cop. Next thing to do is start throwing out the evidence all along the highway as other police agencies join the chase.
After the driver ran over a second set of spikes and was finally pulled over he was covered with pot. The police recovered a couple of duffel bags, a backpack and a few gallon size plastic bags from the Interstate but most of the pot and seeds were blown all over.
There might not only be wildflowers growing along this stretch of Interstate 35 come springtime. The funniest part was that some dopers with scanners had heard of the man tossing pot along the highway and went to try and retrieve it!

How We Tageted al-Zawahri
It seems that those homes in Pakistan were frequented by Ayman al-Zawahri and other al-Qaeda figures in 2005. It also seems that the members that were there during the strike by drones, were plotting attacks in Afganistan and Pakistan early this year. Nothing like a terrorist getting a taste of his own medicine, I say!
The information was given by Abu Farraj al-Libbi, the Libian captured in Pakistan who was third in command of al-Qaeda at the time. The Pakistanis made him spill his guts, because all his information led to that bombed site. He told of meeting al-Zawahri there just before his capture last May. He had plotted the failed assasination attempts against Musharraf.
Despite the protests for those strikes, Pakistan remains the key ally to our war on terrorism.

The Gopher Has Peaked Out of His Hole!
As is currently being reported, another tape by Osama bin Laden has surfaced. The tape seems to have been made in November 2005, because the al-Qaeda leader refers to the US and British intentions to bomb Al-Jazeera, as reported by The Mirror. He contradicts Bush's comments that the war on terror is kept within Iraq, siting London and Madrid as examples. He claims that there will be future attacks on US soil saying that the final preparations are being worked out. He also claims that patience is what eventually will bring victory.
He goes on to discuss a truce and a roadplan to rebuild Iraq and Afganistan. All this arrives amid the speculation that the #2 man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, may be dead from a US drone attack in which at least 4 top al-Qaeda operatives were killed!

Another Year
I had a great time celebrating the New Year. I did it right and feel great today. Yes, drinking heavily was involved! The thing is that I took in between breaks with snacking and drinking at least a glass of water. It worked for me and didn't blind me in a drunkard state. I didn't drive and at 5 am took a cab home.
Yes I was with good friends and great lovers and other people I didn't know, but a good time was had by all. Some people visited the ceramic throne, while others are tending to their hangovers, but I actually got some work done around the house today! Before drinking I made sure I had drank a lot of water starting from when I got up. I ate and kept snacking throughout the day and beyond!
Anyway if nothing else, I felt I had to start blogging about something and since my brain isn't totally recovered yet, I thought I'd talk about New Year's Eve!
Happy New Year! |
